The Museum circa 1912
The Museum's building, which faced west toward the mountains, as it appeared circa 1912. The portico and steps were removed in 1951 for the addition of a new wing.

The Museum in 1918
In 1918, the Standley Wing was added to the north side of the Museum building. The lopsided appearance lasted until the James Wing was built on the Museum's south side in 1928.


 

The Museum circa 1915
The Museum building around 1915. This wing of the Museum was constructed between 1906 and 1908 and was the first wing of the Museum to open to the public (July 1, 1908).
