Eye patterns are distinctive for different spider families.

a) Salticidae, or the jumping spiders;
b) Lycosidae
, or the wolf spiders;
c)
Araneidae, or the orb-weaving spiders;
d) Thomisidae
, or the crab spiders;
e)
Dysderidae; f) Pholcidae, or the daddy-long-legs spiders.
